In the early 20th century, the Swedish female artist,Hilma af Klint, created a series of highly avant-garde paintings in a unique and non-figurative way with the theme of depicting the invisible world.Hilma af Klint has created a large number of creative works throughout her whole life.Among these paintings, the series of The Painting for the Temple is the most important one of all her works.Understanding of the richness and complexity of the symbolic language is a important channel to understand the works of af Klint and her thinking. This paper attempts to take the social environment of the series and the painting language presented in the works as the entry point,to enter into the invisible world depicted by the artist and to discuss the thinking that her works bring to the present art.
