| This thesis studies the representaive works of XUWEI’s freehand flower and bird painting.Through the analysis of XUWEI’s artistic origin and the study of the characteristics of freehand flower and bird ink aims to gain insight into the technique of XUWEI’s freehand flower and bird painting as well as the impact of his freehand flower and bird painting to chinese painting development.Through the analysis of the freehand flower and bird painting works by XUWEI and the writer’s painting experience,this thesis discusses the important influence of XUWEI’s freehand flower and bird painting in history of chinese flower and bird painting.In XUWEI’s freehand flower and bird painting the concrete images were summarized and abstracted with line and dot of ink language.He didn’t seek realistic shape but grasped distinctive features of tings which reflected internal essence to convey the rhyme and gesture of the image.At the same time,XUWEI’s freehand flower and bird painting combined with the poetry calligraphy and painting.He perfectly presented his artistic skills as if he was not painting,but writing like Chinese Cursive Calligraphy.His painting style were simple and unrestrained.He freely expressed himself in his painting.He made Chinese freehand brushwork painting spirit into the creation of the freehand flower and bird painting.XUWEI is an outstanding ingenious artist in the history of Chinese painting.He initiated the large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting with an unrestrained and gigantic painting style,which has played an important part in the development history of Chinese large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting.The technique characteristics of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting has a far-reaching influence on the Chinese paintings of later ages.Based on some representative works of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting,this thesis studies the formation of the technique characteristics and the brush-and-ink characteristics of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting.This thesis also studies the integration and complementation of poem,calligraphy and painting in XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting.The objective of this study aims to gain insight into the technique characteristics of his large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting,thus enriching the painting techniques of contemporary creator and broadening the vision of contemporary creator.This thesis takes the literature research method as the basic research method.Widely collected literatures about XUWEI were adopted as the theoretical basis of this thesis,and analysis and demonstration methods were also applied.Besides,the calligraphy and painting appreciation method was used to analyze the characteristics of his painting and the brush-and-ink characteristics applied in the painting process of his works.Through the study of the artistic style of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting,in the author’s opinion,XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting has made the following significant achievements: XUWEI founded the large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting,and accomplished the revolution of the ink large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting.Moreover,his large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting incorporated Cao calligraphy into painting,and summarized and abstracted concrete physical images with the painting language of dots and lines,conveying the romantic charms and postures of physical images.Meanwhile,XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting integrated poem,calligraphy and painting,and the meaning of painting was further enriched using poems and calligraphies,by which the theme of painting was deepened and his understandings to life and art were reflected.In addition,he took his paintings as the carrier of expressing his emotions and ideas,providing a good condition for the prosperity of Literati painting.This thesis summarized the painting techniques and the brush-and-ink characteristics of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting by analyzing some representative works of XUWEI’s large freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting and combining the author’s creation experience of flower and bird painting,which may explore a correct development track for the combination of the theory and practice of flower and bird painting in later ages. |
