An Eco-Translatological Study Of Yan Fu's Translation Yuan Fu

Yan Fu,as a famous translator in modem China,not only translated classic works of the west,but also devoted himself to research on translation.He put forward the translation criteria of "faithfulness,expressiveness,elegance",which has far-reaching influence in the translation field.In the academic circle,studies of Yan Fu cover various translation fields,and his translation Tian Yan Lun is the most widely studied.Yuan Fu is also one of the most influential translations of Yan Fu,but relevant research is less seen in the translation field.In this paper,the author will investigate his translation activities and Yuan Fu.From the year 1894 to 1909,the complex social environment exerted a great influence on the translation practice of Yan Fu.According to the theory of Eco-Translatology,translators are consciously or unconsciously influenced by the translational eco-environment;the process of translation is composed of the translator's adaptation to the translational eco-environment and selection of expressions in the final target text.The translator,with his or her own purposes,adapts to the specific translational eco-environment and can actively reconstruct the translational eco-environment by selecting different translation strategies.The author of this paper did Eco-Translatological research on Yan Fu's translation activities and Yuan Fu by analyzing the specific translational eco-environment and his translation strategies,and found that he selected pre-Han expressions,syntax and translation methods such as omission and annotation based on his adaptation to his own competence,aims,target readers' demand and social environment of China.Yan Fu introduced economic theories to China and actively promoted the change of the translational eco-environment,which propelled the development of Translation Studies and social reform,realizing "doing things with translation".
