Listening, speaking, reading and writing are four basic skills for language learning.Writing is a main way for senior high school students to use language, and it plays a more and more important role in the model of exam-oriented education;however, writing does not have the same status as listening and reading in senior high school English teaching.Consequently, the majority of students' compositions cannot reach the standards of the English curriculum.Teacher-Student Collaborative Assessment(TSCA)aims at handling students' language production effectively, which is officially put forward by Wen Qiufang and her team in 2016.This method contains three phases: pre-class,in-class and post-class.Before class, students finish their compositions and the teacher selects one of them as the sample. The teacher's main task is to critically review the sample based on teaching objectives. In class, students correct the sample under the guidance of the teacher. The teacher solves the problems that students meet when correcting the sample and shares his revised version of the sample. After class, students are asked to revise their own compositions independently according to what they have learned in class. At last, the teacher checks the results of students' revised version. This thesis aims to explore the significance and practical value of TSCA in senior high school English writing teaching.Three questions are put forward in the experiment: What are the main factors that influence students' writing ability? What are the students' attitudes toward TSCA? Can TSCA improve students' writing level? An empirical study is conducted to find the answers to the three questions. Two classes are chosen from The High School Attached to Henan University. One is chosen as experimental class and the other as control class. The results show that 1)students' attitudes towards the mistakes and the feedback of their compositions have a great influence on the improvement of their writing.2)the majority of students in EC welcome this new method as the feedback of their compositions.3)TSCA is an effective way in improving students' writing level. Therefore,it is beneficial to conduct TSCA in senior high school English writing teaching.
