In today's China,the importance of English is self-evident.English writing plays an important role in foreign language learning,and English writing is an important skill,especially for English majors.Writing is not only a kind of cognitive activity,but also a kind of emotional activity.However,many researches on English writing teaching focus on writing knowledge and skills,ignoring the exploration of psychological factors that influence students' writing ability.English writing self-efficacy comes from Bandura's self efficacy theory,which is the expression of the theory of efficacy in English writing.It refers to the writer's confidence in accomplishing his writing task.The sense of writing efficacy provides an important guide for the teaching of English writing.Based on relevant literature review,with 2classes,including 70 English Majors in sophomores from Hubei Normal University as the research object,the author first goes through an investigation and makes an analysis of the present situation of English writing self-efficacy and the relationship between writing self-efficacy and writing level.Then the author formulates and implements training strategy to explore training experiment effect on English Majors' writing ability and English writing self-efficacy.Quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are used in this study.Pre-test and post-test validation are conducted.SPSS 20 software is used to quantitatively analyze writing effectiveness and writing performance,including descriptive analysis,independent sample test and correlation analysis and qualitative analysis of interview results.The results of the study are as follows:English Majors' English writing efficacy level is less than satisfactory.There is a significant difference in the level of efficacy between high-achieving students and low-achieving students.The main factors that work on the students' sense of English writing efficacy are model education,good mental state,teacher's positive feedback and successful experience.The cultivation experiment effectively has enhanced the writing efficacy andwriting level of the overall students and the low-achieving students,and had little influence on the high-achieving students.In addition,the students who did not receive training have improved their writing efficacy and writing level,but is less obvious than experimental class.According to the results of the study,the author puts forward some suggestions for improving the teaching of English Writing:(1)Pay more attention to the emotional factors of the students in the teaching of writing.(2)Improve teaching methods and optimize evaluation system.(3)Create a harmonious learning atmosphere.
