Teachers' class feedback is a link between teachers and students.It closely connects the teacher's teaching with the student's learning and deepens the teacher-student exchange and classroom collaboration.Enhancing the quality of teacher's verbal feedback in classrooms is a practical reflection of implementing the "student-centered" education philosophy and balancing teachers' teaching and students' learning.It is a response to the requirements of the "English Teaching Syllabus for Secondary Vocational Schools" and the urgent need for constructing a "student-centered" model of business English classroom teaching.In order to fully improve the quality of English classroom teaching in secondary vocational school(herein after called SVS)and to effectively develop the language application ability of students in SVS,the teachers must pay more attention to students during the teaching process and provide effective feedback strategies to ensure the smooth progress of teaching and achieve good teaching results.The author tries to observe and record the real teacher's verbal feedback,randomly selecting and conducting research on the feedback of two business English teachers in first and second grade.According to the research objectives,the author collected 10 recording data and extracted 10 related classroom fragments from the transcribed text.By using the method of discourse analysis to analyze the collected data,the author discovers that the feedback of business English teachers in SVS can't effectively help the learners to promote positive emotional factors,restricting the English acquisition of students;Can't effectively develop the students' cognitive ability and fail to build cognitive scaffolding for students to cross the ZPD and achieve higher level of cognition;Can't effectively promote students' linguistic competence and the language application ability.The study found that the teachers lack of advanced educational theories and effective teaching skills,the students lack of interests in English learning,and the poor monitoring of the quality of teachers' classroom teaching are the main factors that affect the exertion of scaffolding functions of teacher's class feedback.In order to achieve the effectiveness of the scaffolding functions,the teachers should establish advanced education concept and improve the students' cognition about English learning,theSVS should standardize the teacher training system and monitoring system of teaching quality.
