The Study Of Liu Cixin's Earth's Past On Dystopia

‘Earth's Past' has profound social consciousness,constructed a series of dystopian forms of the future space,and generated anti-utopia consciousness for the tangled conflicts between scientific rationality and humanistic value,which was characterized by absolute rational domination of social system,the image of the government kidnapping by democratic hegemony,the social image of trust crisis,and the living space of universe without the existence of morality,all of which reflect great concern about the human morality and rationality closely related to the history and the reality.The work by Liu Cixin conveys support to truth and emotions by the use of calm and precise language.Liu Cixin integrated the outstanding achievements in contemporary China and the fine traditions into narrative,which shows Chinese characteristics different from the creating experience of the traditional dystopian and anti-utopian thought.At the end of the work,it explores the potential trend of dystopian space,and clearly discussed the vigilance of human consumption,the mutual trust,and the scientific and humanistic Utopia hope.It emphasized the importance of individual and collective choice in historical context,as though the choices making are hard,even failing,but highly significant.Darko Suvin's theory "Cognitive Estrangement" is the fundamental of this paper,which is supplemented by Sci-fi criticism achievements of Fredric Jameson,Wu Yan et al.This thesis combines the Sci-fi theory and the knowledge of true utopian and dystopian to understand and analyze the construction of dystopian in Liu's book,finds out the differences between with Liu's work and the traditional dystopian science fiction,demonstrates its unique Chinese characteristics,summarizes and concludes the variety of internal expectations about utopian in Liu's work.As a state of that ‘The History of Earth' has played an important influence both inside and outside the field of Chinese science fiction;‘The History of Earth',presenting technical picture,also has expressed the author's eager for the future and reality from the perspective of being Chinese.
