A Project Report On The Translation Of Characteristic Zhuang Medicine Therapies

As one of the important part of Chinese traditional medicine,Zhuang Medicine is becoming international increasingly with the impetus of development of new era.However,due to the uniqueness of Zhuang medicine theory,particularity and interdisciplinary nature of language and shortage of talents in C-E translation of Zhuang medicine,few researches are involved in Zhuang medicine translation.Based on the C-E translation practice of Characteristic Zhuang Medicine Therapies,this report explores the C-E translation of Zhuang medicine,in order to boost the development of Zhuang medicine and the scientification and internationalization of traditional medicine,and provides some references to academic research.The report explores the C-E translation of Zhuang medicine from three aspects:vocabulary,sentence patterns and discourse on the experience of Zhuang medical translation references at home and abroad through detailed examples.The report covers five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background and researching statues and development of this project.The second chapter presents the requirement of project translation and target readers,and analyzes the content of project.In the third chapter,the whole translation stage is detailed.Before translation,consultation of parallel texts,preparation of translation tools,translation strategies and glossary are prepared;in translation stage,translation is conducted as planned,and problems encountered is resolved with reasonable resolution in order to control the quality of translation;the repeating examination,improvement and self-appraisal are completed in the post-translation stage.The author discusses the C-E translation of Zhuang medicine thoroughly in the main chapter of the report,namely the fourth chapter.Aiming at the problems and the difficulties in the process of translation,the author translates the source text with translation methods,such as literal translation,free translation and translation techniques,such as transliteration,division and rearrangement and so on.The author comes to the conclusion that C-E translation Zhuang medicine follows three principles of accuracy,conciseness and nationalism.The last chapter summarizes the translation project systematically and comes to the conclusion of requests for translators in the field of Zhuang medicine translation and the author’s translation experience and results.The further discussion on the report presents that the translator should accumulate and reserve certain interdisciplinary expertise to ensure the correct understanding of the original information,follow appropriate translation principles and choose proper translation techniques.Besides the accuracy and simplicity of information transmission,the reader’s acceptance and accurate understanding of Zhuang culture should also be considered.This report hopes to provide effective resources and some references to translators on C-E translation of Zhuang medicine.
