Jiangkou Town is located in the southeast of Guangxi Province,in the northeast of Guiping City.The dominant dialect in the town is vernacular,a few of which speak Hakka and Fukien dialect.Geographically,Jiangkou is only 35 kilometers away from the city of Guiping and 224 kilometers from Nanning.Therefore,the similarity between Jiangkou vernacular and Guiping urban vernacular and Nanning vernacular is relatively large.This paper selects Jiangkou Town of Guiping City as the representative point,and on the basis of previous studies,does its utmost to describe and analyze the pronuncination,vocabulary and grammar of Jiangkou vernacular,in the hope that it can fully understand the linguistic features of Jiangkou vernacular.To provide some reference value for the study of Cantonese in Guangxi.There are eight chapters in this paper.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly explains the general situation of Jiangkou Town and the present research situation of Guiping Cantonese.The second,third,fourth,fifth,sixth and seventh chapters introduce the phonetics system,vocabulary,morphology,function words,syntactic structure and related corpus of Jiangkou vernacular respectively.The phonetic system and phonetic characteristics of Jiangkou vernacular are introduced and sunmmarized,and the comparison between Jiangkou vernacular phonology and Chinese phonology and Putonghua is made.The vocabulary part focuses on the description of the classified vocabulary of Jiangkou vernacular.The grammatical part describes the representative part of speech and their syntactic structures in Jiangkou vernacular,and records the relevant corpus of Jiangkou vernacular.At the end of the article is the summary of this paper,and puts forward the deficiency of the present research and problems that need to be further studied in the future.
