Along with the development of academic exchange between China and western countries, interpreters are playing an increasingly important role in conferences, academic lectures and escort interpreting. The background of this paper is based on three landscape design CI practices that the author has participated in.Throughout the whole project, the style of the speaker is inclined to philosophy and aesthetics while detailed information related to landscape design is the minor part.According to Daniel Gile’s seven kinds of effort in CI,these efforts are happening synchronously, repeatedly and crosswise rather than in time sequence. In this field practice, the interpreter has unavoidably encountered some difficulties in effort balance that can be divided into two phases: first, imbalanced effort allocation between listening, analysis & remembering;Second, imbalanced effort allocation between notes & production.Once interpreters cannot allocate their effort rationally, phenomena like false translation, missed translation or being unable to translate occurs. While studying the cause of these phenomena, the interpreter also combines“UMEER” frame advocated by Professor Li Chuangchuan with solving problems that occur in the two phases and adjusted herself to the style of the speech.By the application of this methodology, the interpreter finds that logic, time sequence and space could be applied in the section of remembering.Besides, reasonable guess, reversed illustration, creative translation can be applied in production part. This strategy helps to better allocate interpreters’ effort.Besides, due to a rare record of landscape design CI in bibliographic search, this paper lays some foundation for future study as well as providing suggestions and field practice experience to those who are willing to participate in interpreting.
