The Double Time In William Kentridge’s Works

As a South African white artist,William Kentridge is well known in contemporary art circle.His media and visual field of creation span a lot.The author observes Kentridge’s works,analyzing the elements and their combinations in his works from temporality.This article starts from the hand painted landscape that has been erased in Kentridge’s works,and discusses the time of the real meaning of the work.It also discusses the fragmented time narrative and time scale of artists in terms of the same contradictions and similarities in the works.Under the "standard order" and "standard time",Kentridge constantly denies all the existing knowledge and experience,and expresses his "peripheral thinking".The author discussed the double time in Kentridge works in terms of the his challenge to "standard time" behind his poetic narration.I will form certain guidelines for my artistic creation through this research.
