Music Characteristics And Singing Style Of Liling Folk Songs

As a typical representative work of liling folk songs in eastern Hunan,"siqing ghost songs" was listed into Hunan intangible cultural heritage catalogue in 2014.As a folk song,it is very rare to be included in the intangible cultural heritage project,but this folk song is an exception,as its song melody is exquisite,full of local characteristics and high academic value.This paper intends to conduct in-depth exploration and research on the music features of the liling folk song from the aspects of the music characteristics and singing skills.The research of this paper starts from the history of "siqing ghost songs",sorting out its development process through comprehensive investigation of its cultural background,and then analyzes the reasons for the formation of its local music characteristics from a diachronic perspective.Secondly,by comparing the linguistic features and the phonological characteristics of the song horizontally and by comparing the relationship between the dialect rhythm and the cavity words,the conclusion that "the folk tunes derive from the dialect" is drawn.At the same time,the application of grace note,undertone and neutral tone in this folk song is also the focus of this research.Liling folk songs possess unique rhythmic characteristics,and the correlation of rhythm and emotion,which is also one of the characteristics of folk song diversity.This paper tries to accurately summarize and grasp the music characteristics and singing style of liling folk song "siqing ghost song".Hopefully,the research of this topic not only provides theoretical support and practical resources for in-depth understanding of Hunan local folk songs and more extensive inheritance of liling folk songs,but also inspires future folk song scholars,injects new elements into the development and inheritance of folk songs,thereby making them closely linked with the times,and bringing new vitality into continuous innovations.
