A Report On The Interpretation Of "The Real Confucius" Of The Lecture Room

China is a great country.With an overview of Chinese culture lasting for five thousand years,all the people are convinced by the brilliant historical classics,and have felt a glow of pride all along.So,when standing among the nations in the world,our Chinese people neither belittle ourselves and admire ambilight cultures of foreign countries,nor feel panic with changes of the world.Confucius,as the pathfinder of all schools,is a great saint should be admired.Nowadays,with the advocating of going global strategy,interpreting activities are playing a more important role as a bridge in spreading traditional Chinese culture.The interpreting material about the Real Confucius was selected from a CCTV program called the Lecture Room.The author felt it a great honor to interpret such a material for foreign colleagues during her internship.The author retrospected the whole process of the interpreting practice,made delicate analysis for the problems happened during the Chinese to English consecutive interpreting,and finally explored and summarized effective solutions,so as to enhance interpreting ability and improve when comes to materials concerning this field in the future.This report consists of five parts.First and foremost is about the introduction of this report.Secondly,preparations before interpreting,including collections of background such as the Lecture Room,Confucius and Confucianism and quotations of Confucius,analysis of the speaker,the guidance of Interpretative theory,warm-up exercises,as well as final preparation like tools and psychological preparation.Thirdly,case study under the guidance of interpretative theory while interpreting,which consists of three important phases: comprehension,de-verbalization and reformulation,and the author lists abundant examples to support each tactics effective.The fourth is about quality control through reflection and feedback.Last but not the least,draw the conclusion that the interpretative theory is functional for improving interpreting quality,thus promote traditional Chinese culture to the world.
