As the expansibility of spreading Chinese,people around the world pay more attention to the Chinese Teaching that for whose mother tongue is not Chinese.Up till now,great advances have been made by the development of Chinese Teaching,however,these advances are quite small relative to the gains in development of Second Language Teaching.According to the present study on the second language teaching and learning,the research of teaching English as a second language has achieved quite fruitful results,but the research of teaching Chinese as a second language can not be compared with the research of teaching English as a second language,Moreover,the study of Chinese as a second language teaching and learning has a certain bias.The study of teaching Chinese as a second language focus more on the study of teaching methods than the development of learners' language.Therefore,this article takes topic writing as the entry point,to explore the lexical richness of Chinese learners' writing vocabulary and their development by collecting the writings of Chinese language learners in southern Thailand and analyzing the learners' vocabulary.In addition,the influence factors of learners' lexical richness development will be discussed.Through summarizing the characteristics of Chinese learners' lexical richness,we hope that we can provide some new ideas for teaching Chinese as a second language.The author conducted an experiment on the Chinese language learners in the Chinese language school at the junction of southern Thailand and Malaysia,this experiment lasted about eight months.We found that there are some differences between Chinese learners at different learning stages,and this difference will vary with the topic of writing.But in general,the lexical richness of senior Chin ese learners is higher than that of Chinese learners;because of the writing topics,the learners' individual factors,the character of teachers,the teaching methods and materials,there are some differences between the Chinese learners' lexical richness at the same stage;moreover,whether the learners are at the same stage or at the different stages,there are different differences in the lexical variation,lexical complexity,lexical density,and lexical errors.The lexical richness of Chinese learners is not static,there are several factors influencing the richness of writing vocabulary for Chinese learners.The learner's individual factor,the character of teachers and teaching materials are the main influencing factors.In particular,the impact of teaching materials is even more pronounced.This provides a certain reference for Chinese writing teaching.This thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter elaborates the background meaning and purpose of the research,sorts out the current situation and trend of this research,and summarizes the theoretical basis of this topic;the second chapter introduces the experiments involved in this research,including the theory,method,step arrangement and so on;in the third chapter,the experimental data are collected and analyzed;according to the questionnaire survey and interview,the forth chapter analysis the data of the experiment,and discussed the influence factors of learners' lexical richness.
