On The Improvement Of Sentence Alignment By Using Revised Dictionary

At present,many bilingual alignment tools are not very compatible for Chinese and not applicable in translation.In order to reduce manual proofreading workload after alignment,enhancing the translation efficiency of computer aided translation tools,I selects the Hunalign sentence aligner,for further study to improve the accuracy and efficiency of sentence alignment.By changing some parameters and re-editing the dictionary,I make it more applicable to English-Chinese bilingual alignment.At the same time,I could establish a high-quality translation memory by generating.tmx file.This paper mainly uses experimentation and comparison method to improve alignment efficiency on the basis of Hunalign,by using segmentation and revised dictionary.At first,I use SegmentAnt,a word segmentation tool,to deal with the target text so as to embody the effect of revised dictionary,and then a destructive experiment is performed on new dictionary by abstracting translated words.Finally,the accuracy rate of sentence alignment increased from the initial 8.36% to 59.38%.The result shows that the exploration of bilingual texts alignment on the basis of Hunalign has achieved significant gains.It can improve the alignment efficiency,greatly reduce manual proofreading workload,and has a strong effect on the improvement of other bilingual alignment tools.In addition,it has laid a foundation for the establishment of a larger and more complete translation memory and improving the translation efficiency.
