Human being is continuously exploring the outer world and finding out about himself.Owing to the integrated development of cognitive science and philosophy of mind, the research on nature of mind and cognitive style has already become a popular field with substantial achievement. In the developing process of cognitive science, philosophy plays an important role. The research on cognitive science is making breakthrough constantly because of reflective and critical research mode. The mode changed from Descartes' Meditations and the first cognitive science which takes abstract cognitive as core to the second cognitive which focuses on embodied cognition and the idea of extension. As people are paying more and more attention to nature of mind and the process of cognitive, the discussion of related theories is more and more heated. The cognitive theory from Mark Rowlands,a modern philosopher of mind, was born in such a background. In Mark Rowlands's opinion, the scholars didn't give the exact answer of where the mind is from and to or where the boundary of mind and outer world is.In his mind,it is necessary to reinterpret the related concepts.By reading concerned English literature, this thesis rebuilds the basic structure of Rowlands's theory about mind and cognitive, and sorts out related proof and internal logic and explained that if it works to the integration to 4e and the meaning of it.The chapters are as follow:Chapter one is literature review that describes the background and development of Lowlands' cognition and also introduces some opinions from related philosophers.Chapter two is the origin of Rowlands' core concept of cognition. The reason Rowlands put forward the mark of the cognitive was that there was no solution in those cognitive theories to solve the problem of boundary between mind and world. He decided to retranslate the 4e cognitive theory.Solving the problem of understanding inthe first place, then put forward his integration method of cognition.Chapter three is mainly about Rowlands' core opinion of cognitive theory and related proof.Followed by a lot of doubts,Rowlands put forward his integration method of cognition. The mark of the cognitive was his core solution. He proved and improved his core opinion by means of answering the doubts.Chapter four is mainly about Rowlands' deeper understanding to the essence of cognition. In his opinion, the relationship between mind and world should not be limited in the exact boundary of cognition.Instead,it is more about the phenomenon and process of cognition. Therefore,he introduced the intentional standard mode to improve his theory again.Chapter five is the conclusion.Even though there's a lot of doubts to Rowlands' "cognitive revolution ",it's still meaningful.Because Rowlands' theory provided new idea to solve the problem of mind philosophy.
