The Semantic Function Of The Attribute Of Noun

In modern Chinese,we can find a lot of noun attributes,such an " market garage","professor’s room","heart like ocean","glass cup" and so on.What we will discuss in this paper is noun attribute,and describe and explain the classifications,elements and the semantics function of noun attribute in detail.The noun attribute has been discussed in 20th 70’s and 80’s,and the grammatical learners paid more attention to the sequence of noun attributes."de"’s appearance or not,and the attribute’s semantic relationship with headword and so on.The key point is different from study to study.What’s more,those studies usually tried to find the differences of noun attribute from verb attribute and adjective attribute.They lack the comprehensive and systematic explain of the noun attribute.What we want to do is to describe and explain the semantic problem of the noun attribute.We will observe the noun attribute from several angles to find out the rule and feature of the noun attributes.This paper includes five parts:Chapter one:introduction.In this part we will show the study condition of noun attribute and our means and the significations of learning.Chapter two:the element and classification of the noun attribute.We separate the noun attribute into the subordinate and the attributive in addition to this,we also give several sub-classifications of noun attribute.Chapter three:the semantic of noun attribute.This is the important part of this paper.We will discuss the semantic function and feature from specialness,attributiveness,referencialness,and animacy.We will observe and describe the differences between the subordinatives and the attributives from those angles.What’s more,we will explain the influence of the semantic feature of noun attribute on the headword from the angle of cognition.The variation of the semantic of the attribute give us the possibility to perceive the headword and the thing the headword refer to from different angle.Chapter four:the different meaning of "N1 +(de)+N2".According to the semantic features of attribute,we will discuss the reason and the means to make clear of the different meaning in the base of chapter three.Chapter five:summary.This part is a summary of the whole paper.We will also discuss the problem we didn’t solve and the outlook of the study of future.
