The thesis aims at interpreting Noble Prize winner Toni Morrison' s new novel God Help the Child published in 2015 with Bakhtin's polyphonic narrative theories.Polyphonic dialogues,counterpoint and unfinalizability are analyzed in this thesis.Based on great dialogues and micro-dialogues of polyphonic dialogism,the thesis tries to interpret the dialogues between the author and the main characters and among the main characters in the novel.The thesis also attempts to analyze the counterpoint from two aspects of theme and image in order to reveal the theme and show the features of the characters in the process of analyzing the novel.Besides,the thesis investigates the unfinalizability of the characters and plots.The thesis reveals the polyphonic narrative art in Morrison's God Help the Child by a detailed textual analysis with Bakhtin's polyphonic narrative theory.
