| In 1964,Tanganyika and Zanzibar merged into United Republic of Tanzania,forming a unified country nominally.As to the new country with more than 120 ethnic groups,how to deal with relationship among ethnic groups and relationship between ethnic groups and national construction is critical to maintaining long-term stability in the whole country.After independence,There has been no large-scale ethnic conflict in Tanzania or civil unrest due to ethnic conflicts,and harmony among the various ethnic groups.From this perspective,Tanzania’s ethnic governance is remarkable.This paper intends to discuss the mechanism of the formation of harmonious ethnic relations in Tanzania from the perspectives of historical factors,cultural factors and political system factors,with a view to advancing our understanding of ethnic theory and ethnic relations in Tanzania.On the whole,on the basis of fully understanding the historical relations of the multi-ethnic groups,Tanzania has eliminated the contradictions of the distribution of interests in cultural identity,political power and social integration in the pre-independence and early independence period through active policies in various fields such as culture,politics and economy.In this way,more than 120 people will live in harmony in this multi-ethnic group. |
