Episodic memory refers to people's memories of events, which they have experienced.Episodic memory can be divided into associative memory and item memory.Associative memory refers to the individual's memory of the occurrence of events and experiences by binding to form episodic memory, including the encoding and extraction of specific background information. In daily life, some of them appear as a single element, some as composite pictures. The theoretical results of emotional connection memory have always been controversial, and some studies suggest that emotional arousal enhances memory, but paradoxically, emotional arousal weakens memory. There are also many studies that have found that mood improves memory of "gist" or "general theme",while weakening the memory of details of events. There are also different studies on the effects of emotion on memory in the elderly. Some believe that emotional types affect the associative memory of the elderly, rather than the project memory, and the cognitive decline occurs. Some believe that positive emotions will enhance the memory of old people rather than young people, while others suggest that negative emotions will enhance the memory of young people rather than old people. In order to test the concept and details of how emotions affect connection memory,we choose the young and the old people as subjects, using composite images, explores the emotional connection to try different ages were the influence of the concept and details of the memory. In this study, two experiments were carried out to explore the connection between different age groups for the complex images and the recognition of the details.Experiment 1 and experiment 2 adopt 2(age groups: young and older)x 3(emotional types: negative, neutral and positive)mix design of experiment,in which age group is variable between subjects, emotional valence is category variable within between subjects.Variable of experiment 1 is the correct rate of recognition ofassociative memory. The dependent variable of experiment 2 was the correct rate of recognition. The following conclusions are drawn from this study:1?When it comes to remembering gist project, the main effect is not significant, significant difference was found in age group, the young people in positive and negative projects in terms of recognition rate is significantly higher than the old, neutral project no difference. The interaction between emotional valence and age group was not significant.2?In terms of the connection memory, the main effect of emotion is not significant, and the difference between the group and the group is significant. The connection of the information of young people is better than that of the elderly.Emotional titer and significant age group interaction, the young negative project is significantly higher than the old,the young neutral project edge is significantly higher than the old,the young people actively project recognition rate was not significant compared with the elderly.3?In terms of the details of the project, the main effect of emotion was not significant, the difference of age group was significantly different, and the rate of recognition rate of young project details was significantly higher than that of the elderly. There is no interaction between them.4?In terms of the details, the main effect of emotion is not significant, the age group is not significant, and the interaction edge is significant.
