Research Into The Use Of Mind Maps In Vocabulary Learning For Junior Three Students

English word memorization is a very important part of English teaching.By improving students' abilities to memorize English words,teachers can help enhance their English abilities..How to quickly and effectively improve the vocabulary of junior high school students,is still a subject to be explored.Especially with the deepening reform of English teaching methods in junior high schools,it is undoubtedly more necessary for English teachers to try some new teaching methods in the teaching of English words.In this way,teachers can find a more effective method of vocabulary teaching.This thesis tries to introduce Mind Map into English words memorizing activities,taking the junior high school students as the experimental object,lasting a whole term,is meant to testify the effect of Mind Map in vocabulary teaching and learning.This paper is designed to explore answers to the following questions:1)Is the way of Mind Map helpful to foster students' vocabulary learning?2)Does Mind Map help students use vocabulary better and improve their writing ability?3)Can Mind Map enhance the whole performance of English learning?During the study,the control class adopts the traditional method of word memory,the students memorize words by themselves,and finally the teacher dictates.The experimental class uses the way of Mind Map to guide the students to memorize the words.The testing tools include questionnaires,interviews,dictations and tests.Through the research,we find that:1)Mind Map can improve the enthusiasm of English word learning;2)Mind Map can improve the ability of students to memorize words.3)Mind Map can raise students' awareness of utilizing learning strategies while learning new words.4)Mind Map has a positive influence on students' performance in reading,writing and English tests.
