With more frequent communication between countries, the society's requirement for people's oral communicative competence is becoming higher and higher. And people begin to use pronunciation and intonation, language fluency and accuracy as the main indexes to measure the ability of spoken English. In order to meet the needs of social development, teachers have also emphasized the cultivation of students' communicative competence in the classroom. The communication frequency between teachers and students has increased greatly compared with the interaction between them in the past.In the study of second language acquisition, teachers' discourse in the classroom has attracted many scholars, attention. In English classes, students inevitably make errors. So it is important for teachers to give corrective feedback to students when they make errors, especially to students who depend more on their teachers in private colleges.Oral corrective feedback is an important part of teacher's discourse in the classroom, which plays a positive role in promoting students' second language acquisition. However,in the study of teacher's oral corrective feedback, the research in regard to the relationship of college English teacher's oral corrective feedback and students' uptake in the classroom is very limited. In view of this, the author takes college teachers and students as the subjects of the study, and explores oral corrective feedback of teachers in the Basic English classes. There are three objectives.Firstly, from the perspective of teachers who take Basic English course in a college, the paper aims at finding out what type of errors teachers prefer to correct, such as the phonological errors, the lexical errors, the grammatical errors, the pragmatic errors and so on.Secondly, what is students' attitude towards teacher's oral corrective feedback?Do students hold a positive or negative attitude towards teacher's oral corrective feedback?Whether the students agree with the opinion that the teacher need to correct the oral errors in the classroom? When the students want their teachers to correct their errors? What correction method(such as explicit correction, recast, clarification request, metalinguistic feedback, elicitation and repetition)do the students prefer their teachers to correct their different kinds of errors?Thirdly, what is the effectiveness of teacher's oral corrective feedback? The author will see what kind of teachers' oral correction method results in students' uptake more effectively and whether students' motivation of learning English can be enhanced when the attitude between teacher's oral corrective feedback and students' oral corrective feedback has some similarities. In this paper, the combination of classroom recordings and observations, and questionnaires is used. The author obtains the information that teachers prefer to correct what kind of students' errors and use what kind of correction method by using the form of classroom recordings and observations.Teachers who are from Wuhan Huaxia College of Technology teach Basic English course. The questionnaire is used to obtain students' attitude towards teacher's oral corrective feedback. It is designed based on the questionnaire about the teacher's oral corrective feedback of Katayama(2007)and Smith(2010).The questionnaire is used to obtain the data about the students' attitude towards the teacher's oral corrective feedback. Then the author will analyze the data by using Microsoft Excel. The same way of questionnaire is used to obtain students' motivation values, with Gardner's questionnaire of motivation as the basis for design. At the beginning of the semester and at the end of the semester, the questionnaires are made. Then the author analyzes the data to see the influence of teacher's classroom correction method on students' learning motivation. When processing the recording, the author analyzes which correction method is more effective and sees the degree of students'uptake.Research has found that teachers prefer to correct students' phonological errors, followed by grammatical errors, lexical errors.Students hold a positive attitude towards teachers' oral corrective feedback. Most students want teachers to correct all the errors they made in the classroom. Most students want teachers to correct their errors after they finish their talks.Students want teachers to use correction method of explicit feedback, recast and repetition to correct their errors.Different errors can be corrected by the same correction method. When the teacher and students' attitude towards oral corrective feedback is consistent, students' learning motivation can be enhanced. And repetition promotes students' uptake more effectively. In the future, teachers can know about students' attitudes towards oral corrective feedback before correcting the students in class, which can enhance their learning motivation. In the class, teachers can use various correction methods to meet the needs of students' preference towards oral corrective feedback.
