In recent years,with the growing emphasis on cultivating students' application ability in the domestic foreign language world,foreign language teachers have always followed the "people-oriented" concept of education in college English classroom.Therefore,educators rethink the perspectives of foreign language teaching.And teaching points are slowly changed.In the past,educators thought language is a set of training forms containing vocabulary,pronunciation and grammar.Now,they think language is a set of functional system for achieving various cross-cultural communication purposes.Especially,it is worth mentioning that the task-based language teaching mode is greatly advocated since foreign language education system reform has been implemented in College English classroom Task-based language teaching method advocates that teachers are "directors" in classroom,while the students are" actors "in classroom.That is to say,teachers should play a guiding role in teaching activities;they should guide students to achieve their teaching goals through their own practice,experience or perception.Task-based language teaching method also advocates that the teacher should help students to adjust to their emotions and strategies and to stimulate their interests in the learning process,which can improve the student's practical ability of using a language.Constructivism learning theory has pointed out the correct direction for foreign language teaching,and the task-based language teaching research has set off a boom in China.As a result,the task-based language teaching method abroad has been introduced into China,and it has gradually been applied to the practice of foreign language teaching.This thesis aims to study the application of the Task-based foreign language teaching approach under Constructivism in College English classrooms.Firstly,the author elaborates the domestic and foreign literature of task-based teaching approach and constructivism learning theory.It summarizes the previous studies about the application of task-based language teaching under the constructivism and analyzes the present situations of the research.Secondly,the author aims to introduce constructivism learning theory and the task-based language teaching method comprehensively,and the author will explain the constructivist teaching thought from the perspective of knowledge,learning,student,the role of teachers and learning environment.Then the internal relationship between constructivism learning theory and task-based teaching method is explained.After that,the author discusses the basic contents of task-based language teaching,influencing factors of task-based language teaching and difficulties encountered when using constructivism learning theory in the implementation of task-based language teaching.Finally,the author discusses the application of Constructivism in the task-based language teaching,and analyzes the task teaching strategies under constructivism.Moreover,the author takes college English teaching as a case to analyze the application of task-based language teaching approach under constructivism.In the conclusion part of this thesis,the author points out that Constructivist learning theory plays a guiding role in College English classroom teaching practice.This theory has a far-reaching impact on the reform of the contemporary educational system.The task-based teaching method under constructivism can be regarded as a correct and ideal teaching method under the present situation in China.Because the constructivism learning theory has relieved the drawbacks of educational system reform,it has referential value to the traditional classroom teaching of College English.At the same time,the author points out some limitations of Task-based language teaching approach under Constructivism.Although Constructivism is the foundation of deepening educational system reform,and Constructivism relieves the shortcomings of educational system reform,there are some difficulties in performing the task-based language teaching method under the guidance of constructivism learning theory absolutely in China due to the differences between language learner's learning environment,learning motivations and Chinese and Western Language Teaching method,and the teaching method is not entirely feasible under the condition of China.In the next place,task-based teaching method still has some problems in the process of implementing.Besides,whether the foreign language teaching under the guidance of Constructivism should be entirely student-centered is worth discussing.Thus,we should rethink more about the application of task-based language teaching under the constructivism learning theory.
