The Research On The Buddhism Temple Of Shanxi Area In Northern Song Dynasty

Shanxi area retained many ancient buildings,including a large number of Buddhist temples in the Northern Song dynasty.Through these temple buildings we can intuitively understand that at the time the temple construction process,through the historical data we can understand the history and development of Buddhist temple built,can be in-depth understanding of the political,economic and cultural development and other aspects of the impact of Northern Song Dynasty temple.This paper explores the Northern Song Dynasty Buddhist temples in Shanxi area from the historical perspective,with inscriptions and local chronicles as the main historical materials,study the temporal and spatial distribution,to further explore the factors affecting its distribution.This paper is divided into three parts,detailed understanding of the distribution.The first part discusses the system of administrative construction and ethnic relations in Shanxi,and natural environment and traffic conditions,to understand the basic situation of Shanxi as a whole,pave the way for the analysis of the temple distribution characteristics and causes of the next step.The second part is the main part of this article,discusses the specific situation in Buddhist temple distribution from two angles of time and space,and through the promulgation of emperors gift system and the amount of Buddhist temples repaired during the the successive emperors,in-depthanalysis of the time distribution characteristics,to understand the changes in the number of different stages of the temple,so as to better understand the attitude of the rulers of Buddhism development and policy.In all parts of the temple construction statistics on the number,distribution of Buddhist temples in Shanxi area will draw point,according to the topographic of area is divided into six regions,to get the overall characteristics of the Shanxi area Buddhist temple and regional differences.The third part analyzes the various factors that influence the construction of the Northern Song Dynasty Buddhist temple in Shanxi area.Politically,the emperor in Buddha worship on the policy of restricting the rational for the development of the Buddhist temples;officials also actively support and participate in the construction of the temple,to promote the development of Buddhist temple.The economy with the increase of population,rich labor force,promote the great development of Shanxi area agriculture,stockbreeding,handicraft industry,commerce,and the further development of temple economy,provide a economic foundation for the development of temple.Considering from the spiritual level,the Shanxi has a long history of Buddhism,Buddhism belief spread widely popular;the Buddhist Manjusri belief promote the development of Mount Wutai temple.
