Research On The Music Of Jilin Opera From The Perspective Of "Invented Traditions"

Jilin Opera,the local opera in Jilin Province,is regarded as one of the important members of Chinese operas.It has been fifty-nine years old since 1959.The Jilin Opera Revitalization Project has been in operation for five years now,but it still faces many difficulties.This paper utilizes the theory of "Traditional invention" to reinspect Jilin opera.Chapter One explains the theoretical concept of "Invented Tradions",which reveals the traditional position and characteristics of Jilin Opera as an “invented tradition”.Chapter Two is related to the model of music.Jilin Opera uses the traditional music model to maintain the genetic succession with the tradition.To be specific,it is not only an obvious evidence for the linkage between Jilin opera and Chinese traditional opera,but also a fundamental feature as the culture of Northeast opera.Chapter Three uncovers the struggled situation of Jilin Opera,which is based on the chronical research based on collecting and analyzing data from multiple such as Jilin Daily News.Chapter Four,through the “soundscape” perspective,revealing that for a long time the unclear characteristics of the Jilin province's native music characteristics have caused great restrictions on the personalized construction of Jilin Opera music,and further pointed out that the heavy cultural mission that the Jilin Opera music bears under the constantly flowing multi-musical landscape needs urgent further personalization to clarify the cultural belonging of the Jiju opera.In short,through the study of this article,we can see how Jilin Opera has become a "invented tradion" and the process it approaching the people.Because of the "construction" / "invention" nature of Jilin Opera,there are also many disadvantages in the development process.Compared with the other Chinese Operas which spontaneously created by the folk peple,these “invented tradions” are more difficult to be recognized by the public.So,how to better reach the public and enhance the cultural attribution of Jilin Opera are two difficult problems of Jilin Opera breaking through the bottleneck at present.
