Referring to the political life of ancient Rome,the first thing we think is the Roman senate,in the process of the development of Roman history,The Senate as state authority has made great contribution to the social and political development of Rome.At the beginning of the Roman Empire,Augustus established the Principate,and the princeps became the supreme ruler of the Roman empire.Since Augustus founded the principate system,the problem of the relationship between the princeps and Senate became the most important part of the Roman political life,but the academic circles have payed more attention to Augustus period,there is a lack of analysis on the successor of Augustus Tiberius,Tiberius had also made great contribution to construct and transform the senate,it is also an important part in the politics of ancient Rome.The article focuses on the Tiberius period the relationship between the senate and the princeps,it summaries the changes of senate authority under the rule of the Tiberius.The introduction part introduces the relevant historical materials and researches well as the research status.The first chapter mainly introduces the life of Tiberius and the evolution of the senate in the republic and Augustan rule.The second chapter mainly discusses Tiberius adjustment and transformation of the senate.The third chapter explores the relationship of Tiberius and the Senate.Most of Tiberius' s measures were to inherit Augustus,but Tiberius also introduced some new policies to consolidate the rule.Tiberius' s policy towards the senate,the relationship with the senate,had directly influenced the attitude of the successors in the Julius-claudius dynasty's political bias,in this period the senate remained its political role.although the princeps become the absolute ruler of the empire,the Senate still played an important role in consolidating the early imperial rule promoting the normal operation of the imperial political bureaucracy.
