Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand has set up Chinese language course for many years,but the teaching result is not very satisfying.It is believed that the learners' attitude is closely related to the teaching results.Therefore,this paper will take students' attitude as the main research content,and the purposes are as follows:1.Learn about the status of students' attitude towards Chinese language at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.2.Learn about students' attitude towards Chinese language.By analyzing their gender,age,learning methods as well as teachers' teaching methods and materials,we will see if these factors affect their learning attitude.3.Find out the existing problems in students' learning attitude and propose some possible ways to solve the problems.Through questionnaires,interview and class observation,and from the aspects of cognition,emotion and behavioral tendency,this paper will compare students' attitude towards Chinese language under the circumstances of their native language and the target language.This research shows that students at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University present a positive attitude towards Chinese language learning in cognition.They are clear in the learning goals and are interested in Chinese.In the aspect of emotion,they show a relatively positive attitude.Though Chinese language is hard for them and many difficulties will occur during their learning,such as the problems in learning Chinese characters,grammar and pronunciation,they still believe that they can do well in it and even better than before.From the part of behavioral tendency,most students hold a relatively positive attitude.They obey the school rules and follow teacher's instruction accordingly.However,a few students are slack in Chinese learning,and they can't finish the task assigned by the teacher.After interviewing the Chinese teachers from both countries,we have learned that teachers at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University considered that students' behavioral tendency is conservative,and they show little interest in learning Chinese.However,the Chinese teachers at Yunnan Normal University believed that students show great interest in learning Chinese language.In turn,the positive attitude has a great impact on their Chinese achievement.Thailand students have improved the Chinese language after studying in China.The improvement later makes them more positive in learning Chinese and get better scores.
