This thesis mainly focuses on the features and artistic ideas of Fang Rending's figure paintings of the second-generation painter of the Lingnan School of Painting.Through analyzing the works and painting styles of the three different periods,the work of the Lingnan School,Japanese Paintings,and Western Paintings is presented.The influence of tactics on his paintings was used to study the style and artistic thoughts of the different periods of the portraits of the people,and the influence of Fang's painting characteristics and ideological changes on later generations.In the 20 th century,Chinese society was in turmoil and was in a period of social change.The traditional Chinese painting theme and slow pace of life could no longer meet the aesthetic tastes of modern people.The monotony and lack of new ideas for creative subjects reflected the people's real life themes.Inheritance and innovation have therefore become the subject of constant controversy.The concept of “eclectic Chinese and Western” painting has always been the pursuit of the people.In the era of pursuing modernization while maintaining the characteristics of Chinese painting,Fang Renming,a disciple of the second-generation painter Gao Jianfu of Lingnan School of Painting,has been pursuing the innovation of Chinese painting for alifetime.Constantly seek change and new,deepen understanding of Western society's painting concepts,and integrate them to form their own unique style of painting.Therefore,he gradually became the most accomplished figure painter of Lingnan School.The changes of the times have also changed the style of Fang Ren's paintings.The artist's artistic road has been divided into three periods.He introduced the early paintings of Lin's Gao Hua's flower and bird painting to the Japanese passionate romantic passion.The painting has a style of painting that expresses life to reveal life.With the changes of the times,the painting style of the Fang Dynasty has changed with the artistic style of the political era.There are clear clues to the changes in the style of his life painting.Fang Ren's artistic style in his later years has returned to tradition,and can be clearly seen in his works.Fang Rending's pursuit of the breaking and standing of Chinese paintings throughout his life is of great significance and value to scholars.
