As international communications and cross-cultural exchanges grow rapidly, qualified conference interpreters are urgently needed.During the consecutive interpretation,it is very common for the interpreter to translate a piece of speech that lasts for over five minutes. And to ensure the quality of interpretation, the interpreter needs to have a solid foundation of languages, and transform the meaning through various interpreting skills. For instance, the interpreter needs to reconstruct the discourse, making it logical, consistent, and concise. While using appropriate cohesive devices can help interpreters accomplish these tasks. Therefore, this thesis will discuss the application of cohesive devices in the mock conference---The Second Belt and Road Ambassador Dialogue on Tourism Forum2018 Global Traveler Asia 5+2 Tourist Product Release Conference. The thesis analyzes different cohesive devices and how to use them to improve the quality of interpretation, and then summarizes the main cohesive devices that can be applied.Through analyzing the source language, target language and cohesive devices, the thesis finds that using cohesive devices can help interpreters effectively organize the target language, arrange the layout of the discourse and link sense groups closely, making the interpretation clear, compact and more integrated.
