The Research Of Burned Ink Landscape

Zhang yanyuan from Tang dynasty described Chinese ink into five color which is short for the color of Chinese ink.(According to?The famous paintings ? : Chinese ink has five gradation)But there is different definition of five colors.Some says it include coke?thick?emphasis?thin?light;but some says it is the combination of thick?thin?dry?wet?black;Even someone think it should include white and call it the color of six.I think those are inaccuracy,because Chinese ink got two extremely different colors which are extreme black and pale white.one is nearly burned black,another is nearly white.There are a lot of extraordinary colors between burned black and pale white.In the class of Zhang Lichen in Tianjin Tanggu,he said even burned black itself is the color of transformation.(A lecture and study on Zhang Lichen`s Chinese painting logos)So burned black is full of transformation and has wide development space.Burned ink is called extreme black in five colors.People think burned ink is dull,with no transformation,lack of the gradation and taste that drawing with thin ink and water.That is not true,burned ink is the same with the others,it pursue intangible,clear,smooth and bright.Chensui from the end of Ming dynasty and the open of Qing dynasty has the burned ink painting called “the beauty of rocks”,which is boundless and brief.He uses dry brush which shows the boundless.The Painting has the aesthetic value of the wind of autumn and the rain of spring.“the beauty of rocks” is the model of many burned ink painters,and also show differnt meanings of burned ink.Because of the lack of recognition of burned ink,most people do not undetstand burned ink landscape and its value.There are a lot of Chinese ink forms to learn in Chinese paintings.I presume the market reqiremeng of Chinese painting will be larger,so I choose burned ink landscap to research.
