Tan Jingxing is a scholar living in Chaling area of Hunan in Yuan dynasty.His name was recorded in the history of Yuan dynasty due to his filial piety of looking after his father’s tomb closely for ten years.His books:A Book of Cunxiji and Xiwengjingao provide a relatively comprehensive reflection on his life and the social condition of the Chaling area of Hunan at that time.The Tan family was a family in Chaling area with a wide social network through marriage and communication,and had a lot of contacts with religious people.Tan Jingxing mainly lived in Chaling area.After he finished his decade of paying respect to his father’s tomb,he had a long journey,and had many communications with literati and monks of knowledge through literary works.He had profound understanding of Buddhism.His made contributions to the education of Chaling area through offering classes and becoming an education official.His filial conducts have also promoted the practices of filial piety in the local area.He is a notable scholar who was famous for his conducts of filial piety,and has deep understanding of Confucianism,Buddhism,and Taoism in Chaling area of Yuan dynasty.
