| In the contemporary context,the study of the form has always been an important entry point of researching art works.While,with the continuous emergence of new forms and techniques,simple work classification of painting,installation and video is hard to accurately locate the specific type of many works,and kneading a variety of cross-media means in the same piece of work to serve the work expression has become the common creation means of the artists,so it is difficult to continue to use a single medium such as "painting" to frame the possibilities of a piece of work in a "plane" dimension.More often,works form of comprehensive media is used to enrich the kernel or aims at more specific intervention of the viewers within the field presented in the work.As the critic Clive Bell put it,the form is still the entry point for the audience’s aesthetic sensibility.The selected topic of this article takes a specific visual expression--a visual presentation type of "multilayer vision" as the entry point,combined with relevant background knowledge of psychology and image study,study the works using this presentation mode and artists who form the system in this language,trying to sort out the creative thinking of this form.This paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter explains the background and main content of the research on the visual representation of "multilayer vision".The second chapter starts from criticism method,finds out the theoretical support from the form to the structure of the criticism methods,first certifies the criticism method starting from form to elicit the discussion of "multilayer vision" the visual representation.The third chapter mainly,through the introductions of "figure-ground relation","Gestalt Psychology" and other theoretical background,researches the theoretical basisof "multilayer vision" in the image study and psychology,and further defines "multilayer vision" from the matters of dimension(plane to the three-dimensional)and field.The fourth chapter enters into the analysis of a single representative work using "multilayer vision",including the analysis of severa representative works of Xu Bing and William Ken partridge,and these works are not those using the the common creation means by the artists,but the use of this form has reached the purpose of expressing the concept of works.The fifth chapter is specific to discuss Xia Xiaowan and Ivan Navarro(Ivan Navarro)-two representative artists who commonly use this visual representation,and their works use "multilayer vision" image superposition method to achieve the effect of alienation in space.The sixth chapter trys to make more clear definition for the concept of "multilayer vision" on the basis of the above research of theoretical basis and the analysis works,including the meaning of this form to the image and the ultimate influence as well as reconstruction of work in space,and find application direction of this image representation from these aspects,and the great space for the application of various new media is discussed.Because the visual form is used by artists for a long time,and it has not yet been discussed in the system,and the form,in fact,besides it’s a representative of cross-media,also has the effectiveness of addition or digestion in the meaning of a single image,but usually,it also in the final rendering is closely related with the transformation of two dimensions of plane and space,so this visual representation is deserved to be discussed.With the emergence of more media,barriers between media and media dissipate little by little,as well as the emergence of a variety of new technologies such as virtual reality technology,there are still a lot of possibilities in visual presentation,and its further study and linear comb are conducive to better clarify the evolution of this form,which helps the subsequent development and application of this form. |
