Number plays an irreplaceable role in understanding of the world for individual, while number sense has always been one of the hot topics studied by psychologists. The researches had been found that the early development of children's number sense will directly affect their math achievement in the future. In addition,it is known that individuals have a non-verbal and approximate representation of the number for objects from different disciplines. It is called Approximate Number System(ANS),which reveals the accuracy of the approximate number by using the correct rate of the task of the irregular point compared.Although the previous studies have confirmed that the accuracy of an individual's approximate number system is related to mathematics achievement,it does not provide an in-depth discussion of the relationship between the accuracy of ANS and the ability of number sense for preschool children.Furthermore, the ability of math for preschoolers cannot be measured by test papers,so the test of number sense will be used to to examine children's mathematical ability, and explore the relationship between the development of mathematical ability and ANS for preschool children in this study. The purpose is to provide new clues for developing children's mathematics practical ability and to improve children's ability to adapt to school in the future. There are two sections in this paper.Firstly, subjects were divided by the difficulty of tests of ANS to investigate the accuracy of ANS.Then the development of children's number sense were measured to inspect the developmental characteristics of the ANS and number sense of children aged 3-6 years.153 children from 2 kindergartens in Nanming District and Guanshan Lake District of Guiyang were selected as subjects(3-6 years old). And the accuracy of the approximate number system was tested by Eprime software to replace the Java programfrom from Odic in 2016.The number sense of the children was measured by Zhao Zhenguo's digital tool in 2009.Some results were found in in his paper:(1)There is a significant difference between the three subgroups in the accuracy of the approximate number system test.Afterwards,it is found that there is no significant difference between the simple priority group and the difficult priority group, but there is a significant difference between the two groups and the random group;nevertheless, the test of the accuracy of ANS has significant differences in the age dimension. After the test,it was found that there was no significant difference between the small class and the middle class, but they all have significant differences between the large class. Moreover, there was an interaction between the age and the accuracy test group of the ANS;parents' marital status has a significant effect, and there is no interaction with the the accuracy test group of ANS,and there is no significant effect on the sex or the singleton.(2)The number sense of children aged 3-6 years old had a significant difference in age development, and there was no significant difference in gender and other demographic variables;children in large classes were significantly superior to those in middle-class children in the development of number sense;the performance of the test in middle-class is obviously better than that of the small class children;the items with the lowest scores in the small class and the middle class are addition and subtraction. The lowest score in large classes is the ordinal number, and the highest scores in the small class, middle class and large class are all identified by digits;the children in large classes have mastered the concept of addition and subtraction, and the number of children in middle classes and small classes who get the concepts is small;there is not a significant difference between the accuracy of ANS and number sense on the scores;the remaining tasks of the number sense are tested except for the number recognition and the ordinal number, and there was a significant positive correlation between the two. There is a significant positive correlation between the number of system-accuracy test results and each task and total score of children's number-sensing test;the accuracy of ANS had a significant effect on children's number sense. What's more,ANS can predict and interpret the number sense, and the addition, subtraction and comparison has a higher volume of interpretation, lowest interpretation of ordinal, and the total explanation volume is 28.5%.
