A Study On Conversational Implicature Of Violating Cooperative And Politeness Principles In Flower And Adolescence (the Third Season)

Conversational principle is an important part of pragmatic research,represented by Grice's Cooperative principle and Leech's Politeness principle,which constitutes the main reference principle for deducing conversational implicature,and to some extent regulates people's verbal communication.It is also the main basis for deducing conversational implicature.Based on the communicative dialogue of the reality TV show "Flower and adolescence(season 3)",this paper analyzes the conversational implicature that violates the conversational principle,starting with the principles of cooperation and politeness,and combining the methodological principles of zero and deviation.Through the analysis of conversational implicature and pragmatic effect,this paper explores the main forms of expression,pragmatic tendency and communicative effect of conversational implicature in the context of real communication.This paper is divided into six parts,the specific content is summarized as follows:The first part is the introduction,mainly expounds the purpose,significance,research object,research background and method of this paper.This paper selects the corpus of Flower and adolescence(the third season)as the research object,aiming to analyze the conversational implicature expression and the pragmatic effect of the implicature in the real communication environment.The purpose of this paper is to enrich the scope of conversational implicature study,not only to study the text,but also to study the conversational implicature of script or book.Study conversational meanings and pragmatic effects of everyday colloquial corpus resources.The research methods used in this paper are literature analysis,comparative research,analysis and synthesis,and the method of unifying history and logic.The second chapter is the conversational analysis of the violation of the principle of cooperation,mainly including the introduction of the specific strategy of violating the principle of cooperation.This part focuses on the rhetorical field.The rhetorical forms of violating the principle of quality are mainly metonymy,irony,hyperbole and so on,among which irony is the form of expression which is used more in the corpus of this paper,and the rhetorical forms that violates the principle of quantity is relatively simple.The principle of violating associations is more often used to transferred epithet,and zeugma,etc.;the principle of violations is mainly focused on repeated and contradictory rhetoric.This paper analyzes the specific conversational implicature of the corpus which violates the principle of cooperation,draws on the methodology of zero and deviation put forward by Mr.Wang Xijie,and probes into the phenomenon of positive deviation in violation of the principle of cooperation,that is,the violation of the principle of cooperation.The pragmatic effect is not only negative,but also can promote communication,and can produce humorous,positive and friendly pragmatic effect in certainsituations.The third chapter is the study of the conversational meaning of the violation of the politeness principle,taking the concept of impolite speech act as the starting point,systematically expounding the limitations of the politeness principle and related theories of impolite speech acts.The introduction of impolite speech act includes the definition and classification of the concept of impoliteness and the analysis of the pragmatic effect of impolite speech act in combination with deviation theory.Through the specific analysis of the corpus,we can see that impolite speech acts often have the function of creating humor and active atmosphere,especially false impoliteness,which is also the focus of this paper.The fourth chapter attempts to analyze the positive social functions brought about by the positive deviation from the principle of conversation,including the humorous function,the harmonious function and the emotional function.At last,this paper attempts to put forward three pragmatic suggestions based on the model of social cognitive interpretation of Culpeper's.They are:(1)Psychological and emotional dimensions: learning to empathize and avoid preconceived stereotypes.(2)Objective and benefit Dimension: don't rush for immediate purpose,believe in the power of good communication,and strive for a win-win situation.(3)Social and cultural dimensions: Do not judge people's behaviors with their own social experience,respect cultural differences,and communicate with an open mind.
