Leader's speech draft embodies the thoughts of leadership and collective wisdom.Secretaries write speeches in accordance with the leader's instruction.The speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi JinPing have both the learning value and the research value.In this article,154 speeches ofXi's were categorized and a research of them was made bybuilding up a mini-corpus from the theoretical perspectives of discourse structure and text linguistics.Xi JinPing mainly adopts the form of discourse domestically,and the forms of speech,discourse as well as address and statement in international conferences.The structure of the speeches delivered by Xi become mature gradually.Take,for example,the New Year greetings.It was about 700 words in 2014 and about 1300 words in the following three years with a relatively complete structure.The meta-discourse and discourse markers are also studied.The meta-discourse of discourse function can be divided into three categories: structural markers,annotation markers,and textual interaction markers.The meta-discourse of interpersonal function in the speech is mainly composed of fuzzy mark,strengthening mark,attitude marker,self-reference and involvement markers.The discourse markers in the speech are mainly “regarding”and “referring".There are three main types of speech anaphoras: zero,pronoun,and noun anaphora.Direct speech as well as governors “say” and “said” are mainly used in President Xi's speeches.The syntactic focus of the speech is usually at the end of the sentence,and the structural focus is often at the beginning of each paragraph.Every node in the topic chain of the speech is acted by a topic.And the root node can be a noun,a zero form,a pronoun.
