A Study On The Story Of Man-ghost Matrimony In Qing Dynasty Classical Fictions

Man-ghost Matrimony is a traditional theme in the history of Chinese Literature.It explains the romantic story between human beings and the monster who was the animals plants and other organs,as well as the immortal ghosts who came from the fictional idea.In the field of classical fictions,Man-ghost Matrimony with unique artistic charm,got considerable development.In this study,the research subject is the the story of Man-ghost Matrimony in Qing Dynasty classical fictions.In order to make people have deep understanding of this traditional theme in that dynasty.In this paper,through collect and interpret the relevant texts,and analysis the sources this type of story,the feature,the reason.This study consists of three major parts,except the introduction and conclusion.The first part,mainly states the sources of the story of Man-ghost Matrimony in Qing Dynasty classical fictions.This kind of story can date back to the Pre-Qin Dynasty.After the evolution of the Han Dynasty,Wei and Jin Dynasty,Tang and Song Dynasty,Yuan and Ming Dynasty,this kind of story continues to development in the gothic,tales of marvels and records of Qing Dynasty classical fictions.The second part,analysis the feature of this kind of story.According to the different nature of the man-ghost,the story of Man-ghost Matrimony in Qing Dynasty classical fictions include four kinds of story:human and divine love,human immortals love,ghost love,human and monster love.Every kind of story has new features,this is different from the previous times.The human and divine love expresses the return from human nature to divinity and the transition from other sector to mortals sector;the human immortals love mainly expresses the fairy status secularization and defamiliarization of narrative mode;ghost love manifests the contrast between female ghosts and foxes,multiple forms of female ghosts returning to humans sector;the human and monster love shows the unification of physicality,demon and human nature and the breadth and depth of social life.The third part explores the cause of reason about this kind of story.It has three factors:the author,society and culture.From the author factor,there are three motivations for the Qing Dynasty classical fiction writer to create the story.In order to express the melancholy in the writer's heart,for entertainment and for enlightenment.From the perspective of social factors,the generation of the story of Man-ghost Matrimony has been affected by three aspects: the changed social environment;the social problems in marriage such as arranged marriages,alternative marriages,and early marriages;the social phenomenon about literati's old acquaintance,even the literati has an illicit association with prostitute.From the perspective of cultural factors,in the Qing Dynasty the religious beliefs and academic atmosphere played a catalytic role in the formation of heterogenous marriage stories.Mainly showed the Buddhism and Taoism thoughts and the style of study of Qianjia.
