Classroom questioning is an important bridge between students and teachers.For students,classroom questioning is an important source of students' comprehensible input,and it is also one of the main ways to cultivate students' thinking ability.For teachers,classroom questioning is not only one of the most important aspects of teachers' classroom teaching,but also one of the important aspects of teacher professional development.Therefore,effective classroom questions are particularly important to the development of teachers and students.In this study,compared the similarities and differences between the novice teachers and the experienced teachers in three dimensions: question preparation before class,questioning process and reflection after questioning.With the methods of classroom observation,teacher's interview and students' questionnaire,four English teachers from a high school have been chosen as research subjects.A qualitative and quantitative research method was used to compare and analyze the classroom questioning between novice teachers and experienced teachers.Through the data analysis,the study shows the following results:(1)Experienced teachers are more familiar with teaching materials than novice teachers,and they only design some questions before class.But novice teachers' problems are designed in advance.(2)Experienced teachers use more open questions than novice teachers.(3)Experienced teachers are more reasonable in time allocation than novice teachers.(4)Novice teachers use rollcall greater than the experienced teacher.(5)Both novice and experienced teachers' utilization of detailed inquiry,questions in turn and targeted evaluation needs to be improved.(6)The four teachers' reflection method is very simple and the content is not comprehensive enough.In view of the above conclusions,the study proposes the following suggestions:(1)Novice teachers should communicate with experienced teachers for more advice.(2)Both novice and experienced teachers should increase the open questions in their class.(3)Both novice and experienced teachers should give the students enough time to think about the problem and allocatethe waiting time reasonably.(4)Both of them need to adjust the method of calling and answering,and distribute the method of calling and answering reasonably.(5)Abundant feedback methods and more incentive evaluations should be used to encourage students.(6)Teachers should always reflection on multi-angle and multi-level.
