For children who are not well-understood and whose language system is not yet fully formed,children's picture books not only help children to improve their cognitive ability but also help them to gradually recognize and perceive the world by virtue of their diverse graphic images.Contemporary children's picture books has the deep cultural connotation of art,which is a kind of novel and special books,has became an important media in the modern era of reading pictures,and developed into a very potential market.But at the same time,people will put forward higher requirements on the standard of contemporary children's picture book art market.By referring to the relevant literature,it is found that the development of art of contemporary children's picture book lacks theoretical guidance.And visual thinking as a discipline theory,can provide a theoretical basis for study of art of children's picture books.Through the analysis and study of visual thinking and other cross-theories,this article provides a new research direction for the development and creation of art of the modern children's picture books in our country,as well as the materials that can be used for reference.This article tries to analyze the form and content of the contemporary children's picture books through the visual thinking theory,the characteristics of the development of the contemporary outstanding children's picture books is summarized,and the challenges and problems that the contemporary children's picture books will face in the future development process is put forward,that provides the theoretical basis and related information for the research of art of contemporary Chinese children's picture books.Visual thinking theory affects the creative direction of art of contemporary children's picture books,and the art of contemporary children's picture books will in turn affect the continuous development of individual visual thinking.For children,reading pictures effectively can not only increase their knowledge base,but also constantly inspire their imagination and creativity.It could cultivate children's aesthetic ability to help solve the problems of children's growth and setbacks in the reading process.Therefore,no matter whether the society,school or family should take measures and strategies to strengthen the education of contemporary children's picture books.With the continuous development of science and technology and the constant improvement of cultural flavor,there are some emerging styles of children's picture books on the market such as electronic interactive picture books,stereo video books and multi-sensory three-dimensional picture books.Though due to technical limitations,there are still some problems with the style,but these diverse forms of pictorial book greatly expand the development and application of children's picture books.It can be seen that only by continuously improving the breadth and depth of visual thinking of contemporary children's picture books and carrying out diversified comprehensive analyzes can we resonate with readers and make the art of contemporary children's picture books have a long-term vitality.
