| The concept of learning styles is a subject that experts and scholars have paid more and more attention in recent years.Experts and scholars find that not only in the teaching of teachers but also in the studying of students,people generally neglect an important variable – students.Students have different individual characteristics,different learning methods and different background factors.Therefore,in order to realize individualized teaching,we must have a comprehensive understanding of the students,especially the students’ learning styles.Understanding students’ learning styles can not only help teachers to teach differently according to students’ learning characteristics,but also help students to understand themselves learning styles correctly,so as to improve their learning efficiency.In this thesis,the author collected and analyzed a large amount of literature works,and implemented an experiment on class1 and class8 of Harbin Senior High School by adopting Reid’s theory of perceptual learning style.The author combined two methods of quantitative research and qualitative research,collected relevant data and information through questionnaires,tests,interviews and other methods,and analyzed the data and information by using SPSS in depth.First of all,a questionnaire was used to investigate the students in the two classes.And on the basis of being clear about students’ learning styles,classroom guidance was used in the classroom teaching.Through a semester’s studying of the students’ learning styles combined with English teaching of reading,the author managed to find a way to individualize the teaching of English reading for students with different learning styles.According to the results of the study and the analysis of the results,this study proves that students with different learning styles have significant improvement in learning interest and academic performance.It confirms the effectiveness and feasibility of perceptual learning style in high school English reading teaching.So the author thinks that teachers,whether in the teaching of English reading or in other teaching fields,should strive to adopt targeted teaching strategies to improve teaching effectiveness and students’ autonomous learning ability.The author hopes this study can be further deepened to guide teachers and students to discuss and think comprehensively so as to find better teaching and learning methods and put them into practice. |
