Collection And Research Of The Inscriptions On The Weapons Of Yan And Zhao

The inscriptions on the weapons of Yan and Zhao,which are the objective materials of studying Yan's and Zhao's characters,kept the form and structure of Yan's and Zhao's characters at that time.Although the number of inscriptions carved on the weapons is not that much,the contents that the inscriptions conveyed are abundant.They record a great deal of historical information and have great value for research.The information recorded in the inscriptions is an important material to understand the history of Yan and Zhao.On the one hand,the information recorded on the inscriptions and in the existing historical documents can be verified by each other.On the other hand,it can correct the missing and wrong information of the historical documents.At present,the research on the inscriptions of Yan and Zhao weapons has made great achievements,but more comprehensive and systematic research needed to be done on it owing to the emergence of the new materials.This paper will classify the inscription of Yan Zhao weapons recorded in the Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen ji Tu Xiang Ji Cheng,Shang Zhou Qing Tong Qi Ming Wen ji Tu Xiang Ji Cheng Xu Bian,Fei Nuo Cang Jin,You Ming Qing Tong Bing Qi Tu Lu,and make a research on the characters and words.The research on the inscriptions of Yan weapons contains three aspects.The first and the second aspects is the research about the inscriptions of the weapons that built under the supervision of the monarch of Yan and others.The weapons that built under the supervision of the monarch of Yan contains three types called dagger-axe,beryllium and spear.The weapons that built under the supervision of others contain four types called dagger-axe,crossbow mechanism,saw and arrowhead.The third aspect is the reaearch about the name of Yan monarch inscribed on weapons.Most of the inscriptions on weapons supervised by Yan monarch have the name of the monarch on it,which supplements the missing part of the literature on the name of Yan monarch.So,this paper will make a research on this part.The study on the inscription of Zhao's weapon is divided into four aspects.Part one,two and three are the classification of the inscription on beryllium,dagger-axe and crossbow mechanism.The fourth part is the study of the special words in the inscriptions of Zhao's weapons.
