English grammar teaching has become a very thorny problem for most researchers and teachers, and grammar is also a very key point for students. Most teachers use the explicit feedback in English teaching, but few teachers use implicit feedback in teaching periods.Nowadays, there are many studies on English teaching methods. But these studies are not enough. Therefore,on the basis of the previous research results and relevant literature, the thesis compares the explicit feedback with implicit feedback to study the effect of requiring the English inversion. There are 90 senior high school students in Grade Two taking part in the experiment. They were from three classes which are in the same level. The three classes were divided into three groups-two experimental groups and one control group. One of the experimental groups received the explicit feedback corrective feedback and the other one received the implicit feedback corrective feedback. The control group didn't receive any corrective feedback. One week before the experiment, all the 90 students took the test--pre-test.Then the two experimental groups were taught the inversion using the two different ways.At last, the three groups took the post-test immediately. Two weeks later, all the students took the delayed post-test.Finally,the SPSS software was used to analyze all the data we collected before. The findings are as the following:Firstly, the explicit feedback corrective feedback is superior to the implicit feedback corrective feedback.Secondly, the effect of the explicit feedback corrective feedback is longer than that of the implicit feedback corrective feedback.Thirdly, the attitude towards errors influences the effect of learning. It took the students who take the positive attitude less time to learn the new knowledge. They were more skilled in using the grammar.Through the comparative study,we can find that English teachers should call the students attention of the errors and lead them to correct them, and also pay more attention to the ability of language learning and the incorrect learning strategies to make the student form the right strategies. And the study proves the important role of the implicit feedback in the second language acquisition, and gives the suggestions and directions for the further research and teaching.
