Investigation Report On The Status Quo And Talent Demand Of Yiwu Translation Service Market Under The Background Of The Belt And Road Initiative

The training methods of translators and interpreters cannot be separated from the needs of the translation market.However,with the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative,there are rare investigations focusing on the market demand for translators and interpreters with this initiative.And in particular,the research on translation market of Yiwu,a typical city of the Belt and Road Initiative,is very scarce.Therefore,the author conducted this survey to explore the needs of professional translators and the training of talents in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative in Yiwu and hopes that through this survey,some feasible suggestions can be put forward for the training mode of translators and interpreters in universities.The survey used research methods including questionnaires and field interviews.During the survey,the author selected five representative translation service companies among the 10 translation companies in Yiwu.Their scales ranged from large to medium,and the interviewees were first-line practitioners in the translation industry.The investigation involves the status quo of the obligation translation market,the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on the compulsory translation market,and the subsequent requirements for the quality of translation and suggestions for MTI teaching.The analysis of the survey results shows that under the Belt and Road Initiative,there are indeed a higher requirement for translators and interpreters,which provides a more professional,more practical criterion,and wish the translators and interpreters able to have higher output quality.Therefore,in terms of teaching,it is necessary to rationalize the faculty allocation,and provide students with more professional and practical teaching resources,cultivate professional skills,and help them to have an understanding of the common industries that they might face when providing translation services.In terms of teaching methods,while cultivating students' language skills,it is recommended to increase the proportion of practical teaching as well.
