Vocational education has been developed for more than 30 years since the 1980 s,and it has become an important part of higher education in China.As the core of effective teaching,classroom questioning has been attracting the attention of English teachers.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study and discuss the strategies of classroom questioning in vocational colleges.Based on the constructivism theory and the question-based teaching theory,the thesis mainly employs methods such as questionnaire and interview to analyze the current situation and problems faced by teachers in English classes in vocational colleges from the perspectives of planning strategy,designing strategy,controlling strategy and evaluation strategy,so as to find out the relevant strategies to improve classroom questioning.The research results show that students always feel nervous in the process of asking questions in class,which results in that some students dislike to ask questions in class.There is a general lack of attention to question tactics among teachers in vocational colleges.In terms of planning strategies,teachers always lack it before asking questions;The design strategies used by teachers are mainly reflected in the simplification of problem design.In the process of questioning,teachers use the transfer strategy too much in the control strategy,but less induction strategy.After asking questions,the evaluation strategies used by teachers mostly focus on simple praise methods.The teachers' questions in class are characterized with limited plans,unitary questioning and simple evaluation.Therefore,teachers should understand the basic content of questions in class and use questioning strategy reasonably to improve the effectiveness.This thesis consists of six parts.The first chapter briefly introduces the reason,purpose,significance and content of the research.The second chapter summarizes the research on the function and strategy of classroom questioning at home and abroad.The third chapter is the design and implementation of the research.In this part,the author points out the research problems,introduces the research object,illustrates the research methods and procedures.In the fourth chapter,the author analyzes the research findings,discusses the uses and characteristics of teachers' questioning strategies in higher vocational colleges,and puts forward the features of teachers' questioning strategies in class.The fifth chapter is mainly about the research results and suggestions.The author gives some suggestions on improving the English teaching strategies in vocational colleges from four aspects.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,which points out the limitations and future research direction.
