| Historically,Vietnam,as a vassal state of China for a long period of time,was politically,economically and culturally influenced by China.When it comes to culture,there are many Chinese works left in ancient Vietnam,of which the Chinese works of Vietnamese envoys who visited to China s not only reflect the in-depth relationship between the culture of China and Vietnam,but also endow China a different understanding from a different cultural point of view.Ruan Zongkui(越文:Nguy?n T?ng Quai,1693-1767),with pseudonym“Shu Xuan”,was from T?nh Thái Bình,Vietnam,and successfully passed through the highest imperial examination in the years titled Bao Tai(1722)in the Post Li Dynasty.He came to imperial palace of Qing Dynasty twice,in the 7th year(1742)and 12th year of(1747)the Qianlong reign period,as assistant envoy and envoy in chief respectively.He wrote the Chinese poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong(越文:“S?Hoa Tùng V?nh”)and was known for his poem in the Post Li Dynasty in Vietnam.His Chinese poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong was extensively disseminated in Vietnam in the form of transcripts.It is a widely distributed collection of poems written by the envoys traveling north among the extant literature of Vietnamese envoys.This paper aims to study the poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong from the aspects of its version,content and value.There are different versions of Shi Hua Cong Yong that are circulated in different forms:released as independent collection or integrated in one collection with other poems.This paper found four transcripts,Poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong transcript: Code No.A.1554;Poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong of Qianlong Jiazi transcript:Code No.A.1548;Poems of Shi Cheng:Code No.VHv.1170,reserved in Institute of Hán-N?m Studies in Vietnam.Shi Hua Cong Yong: Code No.R.1720,reserved in Vietnam National Library.Each version has difference which are compared and collated in this paper.On the micro level,each version was compared in terms of characters,words and poem content.On the macro level,each version was compared from the aspects of edition,collection of poems and arrangement order so as to analyze the differences between them and restore the original appearance of poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong more comprehensively.Poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong includes the Chinese poems by Ruan Zongkui who wrote works on the way to China.The contents include lyric poems,the poems recalling antiquity when he visited historical sites,and the antiphon poems.Ruan Zongkui’s Chinese poems mostly are seven-character octave and draw on Tang poetry in phonology and rhythm.In terms of aesthetic taste,his poems pursue spontaneity,reflecting the aesthetic tendencies similar to the poetry in Tang Dynasty.The collection contains the antiphon poems in which he and Chinese scholars communication by poems,and the prefaces and reviews written by Chinese scholars,which embodies the cultural exchange between Chinese and Vietnamese.Among them,most of the Chinese counterparts are local literati.The Poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong saves the legacy of theses scholars,and supplements the local literary materials,possessing a unique value.Poems of Shi Hua Cong Yong records the landscapes and folk customs along the way,reflecting the social outlook of early period during the reign of Qianlong.His works display the historical materials of society with different perspectives from the standpoint of third party.Through the above contents,this paper tries to explore the far-reaching influence of Chinese culture in the place outside China from the perspective of Ruan Zongkui. |
