Research On English Reading Teaching In Junior High School From The Perspective Of Ecological Pedagogy

With people's increasing attention to the ecological pedagogy,many domestic and overseas scholars have proposed to re-examine the issue of education from the perspective of ecology.The author conducted a research in a middle school from the perspective of ecological pedagogy in order to find out the ecological and non-ecological phenomena in English reading teaching.And then the construction strategies of English reading teaching were put forward,hoping they can provide teaching enlightenment for the front-line teachers.Based on ecological pedagogy and ecological reading teaching,this study takes questionnaire survey and classroom observation as research methods and 110 students in grade two of a middle school in Chongqing as research objects.The following two problems will be solved in this paper:(1)What's the ecological situation of English teaching in junior high school?(2)How to construct the ecological teaching of English reading in junior high school? Combining the successfully collected 95 questionnaires with the notes of classroom observation,the survey results show that there are both ecological phenomena and non-ecological phenomena in English reading teaching.On the part of the ecological phenomena,the classroom environment education has been improved and the class learning atmosphere is relatively strong.In the process of teaching,teachers can take care of the diversity and difference of students to meet the different needs of students in different ecological niche,which is in line with the basic characteristics of ecological reading teaching.However,the survey results also show that there are still some non-ecological phenomena,such as the crowded classroom environment,the limitation of teachers' teaching,and students' low interest in English reading.Finally,construction strategies of ecological teaching of English reading teaching in junior high school were put forward in this paper from the following four aspects:creating an ecological reading teaching environment,building a harmonious and symbiotic subject relationship,implementing an ecological reading teaching process and adopting a diversified evaluation system.It is hoped that this paper can provide theoretical and practical guidance for the research field and front-line teaching,and researchers can point out the shortcomings of this study.
