With the addition of the listening and speaking test in Shanghai high school entrance examination,more and more teachers and students use the Internet software to complete some listening and speaking assignments or after-school exercises during daily teaching activities.Stephen D.Krashen,a famous American language educator,put forward the "input hypothesis" in the second language acquisition theory,pointing out that in order to achieve language acquisition,learners must absorb language materials through reading and listening to acquire language.Teachers cannot define homework as the only way to test students' English ability.It respects the students' personality development and arouses students' interest in studying English.This research first explores theoretical bases of Krashen's input hypothesis and multimodal analysis theory for improving English.In order to find out the advantages and disadvantage of current Internet English homework application in middle school,this research investigates and analyzes the situation of current Internet English homework application in middle school students and the reasons behind the current situation by using the experimentation,questionnaire and survey.The results of the research prove that students improve their abilities to do English listening and grammar exercises.Meanwhile,students get more interested in reading and writing.They gain more chances to communicate in English with the help of Internet English homework application which is vivid and interesting.
