For college students, reading is one of the most important skills to master in order to be a successful English learner. With strengthened reading skills, students tend to make greater progress and achieve better results.Abundant research reveals that many factors have impact on students' reading achievement.Among them, reading strategies and perceived self-efficacy have become widely accepted as essential factors to influence students' reading performance.Recent years, although some researchers have conducted research on the impact of reading self-efficacy and reading strategies use on reading achievement, very few people engaged in the studies of the correlation between reading self-efficacy,reading strategies use and reading achievement. In view of this, based on the framework of self-efficacy theory and language learning strategies theory, the present research aims to explore the overall situation of non-English majors' reading self-efficacy and reading strategies use and further investigate the correlation between reading self-efficacy,reading strategies use and reading achievement. This study adopted a quantitative and qualitative mixed design which includes questionnaires and interview and the participants were 202 non-English major college students from Xi'an Polytechnic University. The findings of this study can enrich related domain and shed certain light on non-English major college students' English reading learning. The research results indicated that:(1)Non-English major students generally exhibit a moderate level of reading self-efficacy and reading strategies use.(2)Non-English major student's reading self-efficacy and reading strategies use are found positively and significantly correlate with their reading achievement.(3)There is a significant positive relationship between non-English major students' reading self-efficacy and reading strategies use.As a result, compared with the separated reading strategies instruction, the college English teaching should place a simultaneous emphasis on the instruction of reading self-efficacy.The training of reading strategies in parallel with the training of reading self-efficacy is more efficient to improve non-English major students' English reading achievement.
