A Study About Interpreting Techniques Of Culture-loaded Words In Conference Press Based On The Interpretive Theory

The press conference has always been an important channel for the Chinese government to publish information.It is also an important medium for the foreign media to understand China's economy,politics and culture.The quality of conference interpretation has a direct impact on the dissemination of information.There will be a large number of culture-loaded words in the press conference.These words are rich in cultural connotation and highly loaded with information.The Interpretive Theory emphasizes that the essence of interpreting is to understand the source language so as to obtain meaning equivalence.It can give guidance to the interpretation of culture-loaded words.Therefore,this article,from the interpretive theory,analyzes the culture-loaded words from Wen Jiabao's press conference from 2003 to 2012.It first introduces the features of culturally loaded words in press conferences.Afterwards,it analyzes the three processes of “comprehension”,“de-verbalization” and “reformulation” in the interpretation of culture-loaded words.Based on this,it summarizes the guiding principles of interpreting culture-loaded words,that is,the complete reproduction of key information,the accurate expression of the target audience and the full consideration of the target audience.The interpreting strategies of culture-loaded words under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory are summarized as literal translation,free translation,omission and so on.
