William S.Burroughs is one of the most representative writers in "Beat Generation" and even postmodern literature.He dispels "drugs" and "homosexual" as the main narrative theme in the creation.In the context of the American society in the 1960 s,he deeply demonstrated the modern society's transition to post-modern society,the psychological characteristics and social status of the young people who are contradictory and oppressive and urgently to be released.Through the extreme description of the ugly phenomenon,the Burroughs' novels use post-modern creative techniques to show the collective commonality of the "Beat" literature.In this way,he was regarded as the "spiritual godfather" of the rebellious youth of the 1960 s.From the style of the art transition period,Burroughs' work involves the body turning strategy in the post-modern turn.He grasps the psychological characteristics of the youth returning to the body in that era.At the same time,the unconsciously revealed political tendency has triggered the time.This thesis attempts to reveal the characteristics of Burroughs creative style in the historical background of the 1960 s through the analysis and interpretation of the body politics and its aesthetics in Burroughs' works.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the research significance of the topic,combs the research status of Burroughs' works,explains the overall thinking method of the research and the basic structure of the thesis;The second chapter is the induction and analysis of the physical and political disciplines involved in Burroughs' works.From the three aspects of political body,political field and body discipline,the specific living conditions of the people in the 1960 s under political control are discussed;The third chapter focuses on the personal point of view of Burroughs.It is analyzed that the unconsciousness of Burroughs' work in his works involves thinking about how to "Deterritorialization" strategy in the state of physical discipline and reveal the spirit of the author's body resistance;The fourth chapter mainly returns to the works of Burroughs,and analyzes the aesthetics of Burroughs' works by combing the two aspects of body aesthetics and text aesthetics in his works.At present,the study of Burroughs is still in its infancy,and it is more to categorize it into the overall context of the "Beat" literature as a generalized evidence to demonstrate the "Beat" literature.Now the overall study of the "Beat" has risen to a certain height,and should focus on individual components to promote the overall research process with individual breakthroughs.Taking Burroughs as the starting point,the author tries to reveal the political picture hidden behind Burroughs' works and the cultural characteristics under the collective imagination of Western society in the 1960 s.
