The Kite Runner,set in the turbulent Afghanistan from the 1970 s to the beginning of this century,tells the complicated fate of a father-son,brother relationship and individual characters in an Afghan family.At the same time,taking kite as the core,he wrote a story about betrayal and redemption of human nature.This paper takes the text of "Kite Runner" as the research object,uses the basic research methods of literature reading and text close reading,as well as the Literary Ethics Criticism method,to analyze the way of betrayal and redemption of Amir,the hero of "Kite Runner",to explore the ethical dilemma,ethical consciousness and ethical choice of the characters,and to analyze the ethical thoughts expressed in the novel.The paper is divided into three parts.In the first chapter,by analyzing the profound influence of Hasan and his father on Amir's life trajectory from childhood to middle age,the complex relationship between Amir and Hasan and between Amir and his father is explained,and the perplexity of Amir's ethical identity is revealed.The second chapter analyses the mistake of Amir's ethical choice.Characters in a specific ethical environment are bound to face intricate ethical choices.The result of an ethical choice is not only related to the most essential human nature of the characters,but also closely related to the influence of other external characters and environment.This chapter tries to discuss the irreparable trauma caused by Amir's heart after the game of Sphinx factor under the guidance of evil human nature.In the process,Amir lost himself completely as a master,friend,brother or son.The third chapter analyses the return of the hero Amir's ethical consciousness.After losing his ethical identity,Amir had to re-examine his past life rationally because of his inner spiritual pain.It can be said that Amir's pursuit of life reflection in this period is based on the incompleteness of life and the spiritual desire of inherent morality.After self-redemption through practical actions,Amir finally made clear his pursuit and aspiration,that is,to be a kind,loyal,brave and true healthy person.It can be seen that the whole work reflects the author's pursuit of a better human nature.At the same time,it also expresses the author's pursuit of traditional Afghan culture,which is the excellent traditional Afghan culture that Amir lost and struggled to find.The conclusion affirms the unique ethical value and significance of The Kite Runner.By focusing on the development of Amir's life,the work explores the important influence of complex ethical relations and ethical consciousness on the character's life path choice and personal spiritual growth.
